Five Mystery Writers you should read to excel in your craft

The writers that has steered us towards writing better stories and also as a person are the people who also impacted the world with their words. We have listed the first five that out of the thousands that came on our mind but we will keep on talking about more who have inspired us in our journey,  through our blogs. We are excited to know your picks that helped you in your craft.

Edgar Allan Poe: He was one the greatest and as a lot of literary experts potray - unhappiest of American poets. He was a master of horror, and the forefather of the detective stories. one example of this is that his detective C. Auguste Dupin was the literary forefather of Sherlock Holmes. Poe's best known fiction works are Gothic. 

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle: Creator of Sherlock Holmes. A British writer, Doyle was one of the highest paid writers in the world at his time. His work has been translated in more than 50 languages, made into plays, movies, TV Series, radio shows, cartoons, comic books, even a ballet. The address of Holmes at Mrs. Hudson's house, 221B Baker Street, London, is perhaps the most famous London Street in literature. Benedict Cumberbatch owe him his insane popularity and what else. Yes he popularized the deductive reasoning into a cult and a fun thing to learn to impress people.  
  
Agatha Christie: if you don’t know or read Agatha Christie then leave everything and find a book of hers. A very prolific author of mystery. She created the famous Hercule Poirot, the Belgian detective, and Miss Jane Marple. With a bibliography of 66 detective novels and 14 short story collections under belt. She also wrote the world's longest-running play, a murder mystery, The Mousetrap, and six romances under the name Mary Westmacott. In 1971 she was made a Dame for her contribution to literature. She remains the most-translated individual author – having been translated into at least 103 languages. You can start your journey of Agatha Christie’s world with "The murder of Roger Ackroyd." Also considered as the greatest crime novel ever by the Crime Writers' Association.

Gaston Leroux: If you have seen Phantom of the Opera then you have seen one of the most defining works of the Twentieth Century. Created by the French mystery novelist, playwright and a journalist Gaston, the novel deals with a criminally insane recluse who haunts a Paris opera house, and abducts a young and beautiful singer. 

Isaac Asimov: Can you believe that, Isaac Asimov wrote or edited more than 500 books, around 90,000 letters and postcards. He did this and more being a professor of biochemistry at Boston University. Asimov along with Robert A. Heinlein and Arthur C. Clarke, is considered one of the "Big Three" science fiction writers during his lifetime. Asimov’s most famous work is the Foundation Series; followed by the Galactic Empire series and the Robot series.
